A Sad Sad Story out of the blues
High in trees, sitting on branches,
on roofs and window-sills birds
are singing on top of their voices
But higher still the lark
is singing its lonely song
without asking a permission
it never will get
from birds singing from roofs,
branches and window-sills
high enough for breaking
their legs in case they tumble
and fall - scared to death - and
stop hearing the lark still
singing out softly its tune
even lonelier when disappearing
out onto the blue
But it can't stop and it
never will come back again
once it has learned to sing
its own lonely song of love
